Dachshund Guides is a pet site. Dachshunds are the specialty, and around them sits a wider circle of dog care, cat care and life at home with pets. Most readers find us through Google while looking for an answer to one specific question: what to feed, which bed or harness to buy, whether something is safe, when it’s worth a vet visit.

If you’re looking for a pet site that accepts guest posts, this page covers what we publish, the three ways to work with us and how the process runs. If you have something useful to tell dog and cat owners, or a product or service they’d actually use, we’d like to hear from you.

What we publish
Everything we publish is about pets. If a topic doesn’t help someone who lives with a dog or a cat, it doesn’t belong here, however well it’s written. Topics we’re glad to take:
- Dog food and treats: kibble, fresh and raw food, treats, chews, feeding for small breeds and seniors
- Beds, crates and gear: dog beds, crates, carriers, harnesses, collars, leashes, ramps and stairs
- Cat food and litter: cat food, litter, litter boxes and automatic litter boxes
- Odor and cleaning: pet odor control, stain removal, air purifiers, cleaning up after pets
- Toys and enrichment: toys, puzzle feeders, scratchers, cat trees
- Grooming and health: grooming tools, dental care, supplements, flea and tick prevention
- Training and behavior: house training, crate training, barking, separation anxiety
- Pet tech and services: GPS trackers, pet cameras, automatic feeders and fountains, pet insurance, vet telehealth, sitting and boarding
- Life with pets: pet-friendly homes and yards, travel with pets, adoption
We don’t accept anything outside pets, and we don’t accept these topics even with a pet angle: gambling, adult content, CBD or cannabis (including CBD for pets), crypto, loans or forex, VPNs, vaping, prescription or weight-loss drugs, essay writing services and dating.
Three ways to work with us
1. Send us your link and anchor text. You don’t have to write anything. Send us your target URL (the page on your own site the link should point to) and your anchor text. We choose a topic that fits both your site and ours, write a new article around it and add the images. Then we add internal links from our existing related articles to this new article (other posts link in to it — the new article does not link out to those pages). That inbound linking helps Google discover and index the page faster and strengthens the article’s authority on our site. If your site is too far from pets to find a natural fit, we can’t take it.
2. Add your link to an existing article. We find a published article on our site that fits your page, write a new paragraph for it, and place your link in that paragraph.
3. Send us your article. You write it, we review it. Expect substantial changes. We check the facts, the sources and the usefulness of every article, and to make it fit the site we may rewrite sections, restructure it, cut parts we can’t verify and change the title before it goes live. The article must be original and not published anywhere else.
Each option includes one dofollow link to your site. Links to the studies and veterinary sources an article cites don’t count toward it.
Our editorial standards
- Facts need sources. Health, nutrition and safety claims are checked against veterinary or published sources. Anything we can’t verify comes out.
- The reader comes first. An article has to answer a real question a pet owner would ask. Thin, spun or keyword-stuffed content is declined.
- Links have to fit. Your link should point to a pet-related page and sit where a reader would find it useful. The anchor text has to read naturally in the sentence.
- We edit. We may change the title, structure, wording and images. If an idea doesn’t suit the site, we’ll suggest a different angle or decline it.
How it works
- Email us your target URL and anchor text, plus your article, your topic idea or the kind of page you’d like your link on.
- We review it and reply with a plan: whether we can take it, which article it goes into and where the link will sit.
- Once you approve the plan, we usually publish within 12 hours and send you the live link.
